مقدمه: هدف مطالعه حاضر بررسی مشخصات جمعیتشناختی از قبیل تحصیلات، جنسیت و همچنین نوع اختلال بیمار و میزان همدلی و هوش هیجانی پزشک بر قطع درمان مراجعهکنندگان مراکز سلامت روان جامعهنگر شهر تهران است. روشکار: نمونهای شامل 4101 نفر بیمار و 26 نفر پزشک برای بررسی انتخاب شدند. اطلاعات مرتبط با بیماران توسط نرمافزار ثبت اطلاعات مراکز سلامت روان جامعهنگر (که از هنگام تاسیس مراکز در نرمافزار ثبت شده و موجود است) به دست آمد. همچنین، اطلاعات مرتبط با پزشکان نیز پس از کسب رضایت کتبی، توسط دو پرسشنامه هوش هیجانی بار-آنEQI) ) و مقیاس همدلی پزشکان جفرسون (JSPE) جمعآوری گردید. دادههای مطالعه حاضر با توجه به نقطه برش به دادههای اسمی تبدیل شده و از طریق آزمون مجذور خی با استفاده از نرم افزار SPSS تحلیل گردیدند. یافتهها: نتایج پژوهش حاضر نشان داد که هر چه میزان همدلی پزشک بیشتر باشد میزان قطع درمان بیماران او کمتر خواهد بود. همچنین ارتباط نمره کلی هوش هیجانی با متغیر قطع درمان معنیدار نمیباشد و قطع درمان تنها با مولفه سازگاری هوش هیجانی ارتباط معنیداری دارد. یافتهها نشان داد که هیچ یک از متغیرهای مرتبط با بیمار (جنسیت، سطح تحصیلات و نوع اختلال) ارتباط معنیداری با قطع درمان ندارند. نتیجهگیری: بر اساس یافتههای مطالعه حاضر، مهارتهای ارتباطی، همدلی و مولفه سازگاری هوش هیجانی پزشکان، عوامل موثری بر کاهش قطع درمان بیمارانشان محسوب میشود.
