Comparison of the Effectiveness of Emotion-Focused Therapy and Schema Therapy on Self-Conscious Emotions and Psychological Coherence and Mental Well-Being of Women with Marital Conflict

چکیده

Objective: This study aims to assess how emotion-focused therapy and schema therapy compare in terms of improving self-conscious emotions, psychological coherence, and mental well-being in women experiencing marital conflict.



Method: The current study is categorized as applied research based on the research goal and was conducted using a semi-experimental design with pre-test, post-test, and follow-up (after three months), involving two experimental groups and a control group. The statistical population for this study consisted of all women experiencing marital conflict seeking help from counseling and psychological clinics in Tehran between May and November 2023. A sample of 60 female clients was chosen using purposive sampling and randomly assigned to three groups of 20 participants each. The first experimental group underwent twelve sessions of Emotion-Focused therapy, while the second experimental group received twelve sessions of schema therapy.
