Abstract

The position of work in a psychiatric hospital and its associated pressures can lead to anxiety and depression in employees, which in turn affects the quality of care provided to psychiatric patients Affect. An integrative group therapy to address these pressures and establish a supportive care setting can have a significant impact on the efficiency of staff and reduce their clinical syndrome.
Using random sampling, among all employees of Ibn Sina Hospital in Mashhad who were scored above the cut-off point in the DASS and willing to participate in the study, 25 patients were randomly assigned to control group and 25 patients Selected for the test group. The experimental group received 12 weeks of integrative group therapy and the control group merely assembled in a group. At the end of the group, the DASS questionnaire was repeatedly run on members of both groups.
The results showed that the overall scores of DASS in the intervention group had a significant decrease compared to the control group (with a significant level of 0/006). The subscales of anxiety and depression decreased significantly (with a significant level of 0.001 and 0.015, respectively), but there was no significant difference in the subscale of stress (significance level of 0.10).
The results of this study indicate that the psychiatric hospital staffing in the treatment group and sharing their concerns, fears, needs, and feelings with other members and addressing their beliefs can be a major contributor to reducing psychological problems. They are particularly anxious and depressed.
