Abstract

Introduction
‎ The Internet is one of the most powerful tools of development in the contemporary world, but ‎excessive use of the Internet will cause Internet addiction. this article examines the prediction of Internet addiction on the ‎basis of sensation seeking and brain-behavioral systems among Azad University of Mashhad’s ‎students

Material and method
A correlation with regression analysis research has been performed on 92 Students of Azad University of ‎Mashhad, including 44 male and 48 female during 2016 .All students completed the research questionnaire ‎including; demographic characteristics data, young internet addiction, Zuckerman's sensation seeking and brain-‎behavioral systems. Data were then analyzed using spss software.‎

Results
Findings showed that there is a correlation between the addiction to the Internet and the components of ‎female student’s brain-behavioral systems, including drive, searching for entertainment, behavioral ‎activation system (BAS), behavioral inhibition system (BIS) but this correlation was not significant and there ‎is only a positive relationship with the response to reward component. No significant relationships ‎between these components have been found among male students. The correlation between Internet ‎addiction and sensation seeking has been significant and positive and this correlation between internet ‎addiction and disinhibition component was significant and negative, while the correlation coefficient ‎between Internet addiction and boredom susceptibility and experience seeking components was not ‎meaningful.‎

Conclusion
‎ Based on the results, there was a direct and significant relationship between internet addiction and ‎sensation seeking although this relationship was a little bit weaker in relation to the role of brain-‎behavioral systems, despite being related
