Introduction: Depression is a kind of common mental disorder and nutrition has a role in its prevention and treatment. In previous studies, a relationship was found between depression and intake of some nutrients and food but the results were contradictory and the reason of these contradictions was ignoring the diet. The purpose of this review study is to determine the relationship between the diet and depression. Materials and Methods: By using the keywords (depression OR anxiety) AND (diet OR nutrition OR food) AND (pattern OR habit OR behavior in databases of (SID, Science Direct, PubMed, Scopus Elsevier). the number of 352 articles were obtained. After removing the repeated and unrelated articles, 19 articles that were published in the time period of 2009-2015 entered the study. Results: From the all found studies, 4 studies were cross-sectional, 11 studies were cohort and 3 studies were case- control. In all these studies, diet was tested by food frequency questionnaire, 24 hour recall and food record. Also, depression was tested by CES-D (Centre For Epidemiologic Depression Scale) or diagnosis of doctors. In general, 2 types of diet were identified: healthy diet and unhealthy diet. Healthy diet is significantly associated with the reduction of depression while there was no relationship between unhealthy diet and depression. Conclusion: The findings suggest that the receiving lots of fruit, vegetable, fish and cereal maybe associated with the reduction of depression. Although it seems that more accurate control and cohort studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Introduction: In recent decades, violence against women has been considered as the most serious social problem beyond cultural, social and regional borders. Thus, the present research aims to compare anger and anxiety in normal women and victims of domestic violence who referred to Forensic Medicine Center in South Khorasan. Materials and Methods: the methodology is descriptive and of comparative causative kind. Statistical community includes two groups of abused and ordinary women. Abused group involved all women who referred to Forensic Medicine Center in South Khorasan whom identified as the abused by forensics and physical examinations (in a two months interval, totally 60 persons). The ordinary cases were normal women who referred to Forensic Medicine Center in South Khorasan. To select the sample of abused women, all women who tended to participate in the research were selected as the sample due to the small size of the community; and the ordinary group also was selected with the same number among the normal women who referred to Forensic Medicine Center and had similar demographic features as the abused group including age and educational level. For collecting data, emotional control questionnaire (questions in anxiety and anger dimension) was used. Multivariate variance analysis was used to analyses the research hypothesis. Results:There is a significant statistical difference between the amount of anger and anxiety between the normal women and abused ones. Moreover, results demonstrated that the mean scores of abused women are higher than the normal ones in anger and anxiety components. Conclusion: Domestic violence makes to appear many psychological problems for the individual. Introduction: This study aims at examining the relationship between personality traits and self-regulated learning strategies with academic performance of second grade high school students in Eghlid. Materials and Methods: The statistical community of this objective-correlational study consisted of the whole second grade high school students in Eghlid in the academic year 2014-15 and via multistage random cluster sampling eight schools were chosen in Eghlid and one class was randomly selected in every school and all the students of the class were directed to take part in the presented paper as a statistical population. In order to collect data we used NEO Personality features Inventory (1992), self-regulated learning questionnaire by Pintrich and Degroot (1990) and academic performance inventory by Pham and Taylor (1990). In order to analyze the data Pearson correlation coefficient test and multiple regression were applied simultaneously. Results:The research findings indicated that there was a significant inverse relationship between neurotic personality traits and academic performance and there was a significant positive correlation between agreeableness and conscientiousness with academic performance. The aspects of neuroticism inversely and conscientiousness directly are able to predict students’ academic performance. Conclusion: It seems that the metacognitive strategy can predict students’ academic performance directly.

Introduction: Mindfulness, a concept influenced by the Buddhist thinking, has attracted the attention of psychologists, psychotherapists, and researchers in the recent years. Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) are regarded as one of the third generation or third wave cognitive-behavioral therapies. Many research studies have examined factors related to this variable. The present study aims to examine the relationship of mindfulness to resilience in university students. Materials and Methods: The research method used in this study was of descriptive-correlational type. The sample consisting of 357 students (203 girls and 154 boys), who were selected from the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Engineering, and Pardis Faculty of the University of Kashan, studying in the year 2016, was taken based on the stratified sampling method in proportion to the size of the strata, For data gathering purposes, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (2003) and the Five Factor Mindfulness questionnaire (Baer, Smith, Hopkins, Krietemeyer, and Toney, 2006) were used. The obtained alpha coefficient values for variables mindfulness and resilience were 0.733 and 0.856, respectively, and those for the components of mindfulness-observing, describing, acting with awareness, accepting without judging of the inner experience, and non-reactivity to the inner experience- were 0.726, 0.667, 0.802, 0.724, and 0.623, respectively. For data analysis, the Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient was used with SPSS. Results:There was a significant relationship between mindfulness and resilience among students, as agreed by other similar research (P<0.05). The findings of the study showed that mindfulness could lead to a boost in resilience among students. Conclusion: According to the results of the study, it is suggested that cultural, higher education, and other educational planning authorities throughout the country pay more attention to the improvement of mindfulness and resilience in university students and provide training in this area.
